How Training Works:
Our trainers are qualified to handle any dog at any stage of their development. Our training program consists of a 7-to-10 day stay for your dog at our facility, supplemented by five follow-up classes in which we teach the dog owner our training method and the principles behind it. During your dog's stay, he will receive one-on-one training with each of our dog trainers. Boarding your dog while he/she is being trained allows our trainers to spend much more time with your dog than would otherwise be possible. We don't use "treat training", and we don't use harsh means in our training program. During your dog's stay, the trainers get to know your dog's personality and behavioral patterns. All the while, your dog will have access to our spacious, fenced-in yard where he can exercise and socialize with other dogs.
We teach your dog five basic commands: sit, stay, down, come and the loose leash walk. But more importantly, we teach your dog to understand his place within your family pack. As the dog's owner you are the pack leader, and your dog's role (as a pack follower) is to understand that what you tell him to do is inevitable. By reinforcing this mutual understanding, you'll be on your way to having a happy and well-adjusted dog, whose obedience to you will extend far beyond the five basic commands.
Training is much more an attitude then anything else. Perfect Pooch's training will help you understand how to have a perfect pooch. Although our program has been proven, it relies on owner participation, and without owner consistency in working with their dog every day, training will never reach its full potential. So the five follow-up classes are crucial to the program. You get out of it what you put into it. We teach you what we know about dogs, what to do and how to interact with them, so that they become happy, well balanced and calm members of your pack.
Once you have scheduled a drop-off time, please bring the following with you when dropping off for training:
Current Shot Record (Up-to-date Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus, and Bordetella Vaccines)
Enough food for the dog's stay with us (Dry dog food only unless medically required)
Payment (cash, check, or credit card)
